What is a registry cleaner and why is there such a big hype about them when people are talking about trying to make their computers faster? A registry is an area on your computer that is like a database that stores all of the configurations for your computers operating system and all of the programs and applications that are on your computer. What happens when a program changes is that the registry changes and sometimes the older registry doesn’t change. This in time will cause a lot of unused registry’s to build up on your computer and can slow it down.
So what does a registry cleaner do that’s so important? Registry cleaners are designed to remove unwanted or redundant registry entries that are not serving any purpose at all on the registry. Basically they are just taking up space and not doing anything which will lead to your computer running slower. The idea here is that if you remove these redundant entries your computer will run faster. And the truth of the matter is that it will. But how much difference does it make?
What most people seem to fail to realize is that cleaning up your registry will not make your computer super fast. What will happen is that your computer will get ever so slightly faster – the difference might be so small that you might not even notice it. Has that ever happened to you? You ran a scan and after it was done you notice absolutely no difference in your computer? My suggestion is this: don’t buy into the hype, keep your money in your wallet where it belongs.
If you want to make your computer faster there are a lot of other things that you need to do like clean up different areas of your computer and also do some minor tweaks to your operating system here and there. Using a registry cleaner to try and make your computer faster is like having a muddy car to clean and you are spending all of your time cleaning one tire. Sure that tire will be really clean, but the car as a whole will still be dirty and inefficient.
So the big question is that should you stop using registry cleaners? The answer is no. The reason for this is because the registry is one of the main areas of your computer that still needs to be cleaned. I just don’t suggest that you pay for a registry cleaner since there are some that are free that work just fine. The main one that I highly recommend is Ccleaner. Just run a Google search for it. All you have to do is to just download and install the program. Once the program is installed click on Registry on the left hand side of the window and then click on Scan for issues. The program will now look for errors in your registry and it will remove those errors. The beauty about Ccleaner is that it also doubles as a all purpose cleaner for your computer – when you are at the home screen you can clean your computer out of temporary internet files, cookies and even your history.
