This has been an interesting year for the NBA playoffs, with both entertaining series and lackluster matchups taking place. Here is a brief glance at what’s happened if you haven’t been watching.

The Charlotte Bobcats squared off against the defending Eastern Conference champions, the Orlando Magic. A lot of people felt that the Magic’s run last year was a fluke and they weren’t that good. No one is saying such things anymore, they have been rolling through the competition and it started with a 4-0 sweep of Charlotte.

The Cleveland Cavaliers matched up with the Chicago Bulls in what should have been a great matchup. The Bulls made noise last year by taking the Celtics to 7 games, however this year the Cavs did not underestimate them. I suspect we will hear from this Bulls team for the next few years.

The Celtics and Heat had the writings of a great matchup, Wade vs. the Big Three. Apparently Wade is content with his 1 championship ring and I don’t see him getting close to an NBA finals again, unless the Heat management stirs the pot this offseason. The Celtics took this one in 5 games.

The Hawks and the Bucks was oddly enough, the only interesting series. Every game felt like a game 7 in this one. Fittingly, it went to game 7. The Hawks won; this was their NBA finals, because we would not see them again.

In the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the Magic absolutely decimated the Hawks. The Hawks had no gas left in the tank after going 7 deep with the Bucks and were embarrassed with record-setting point-margin losses. A victory for the Magic.

The Cavs and the Celtics faced off on the other side of town, in a pretty good series. The Cavs went up 2-1, but then proceeded the next three games. Cavs fans everywhere began to panic, because it is very possibly that King James will leave Cleveland this offseason. If they can’t even make it to the Eastern Conference finals, he doesn’t have a shot to win.

The Eastern Conference finals is taking place now between the Magic and Celtics. The Magic are fighting a losing battle and are down 3 games to 1, with little hope of pulling out another W. There’s always next year.

Fantasy basketball has been growing in popularity over the past few years. There’s less luck involved than in fantasy football and its not nearly as long a season as fantasy baseball. For these reasons, fantasy basketball has become my favorite fantasy sport to play.

That’s not to say luck isn’t involved in fantasy basketball. There are always surprise injuries to big name stars and when some players get traded, their stock shoots way up or down. You can’t account for luck though so you better be prepared to have a great draft.

After 5 years of fantasy basketball I can safely say assists and blocks are the two hardest categories to come by. Very few players put up numbers in either stat exceptionally well, and only two (Dwayne Wade and Lebron James) can do both.

A quick note. If you happen to be lucky enough to have first pick and Lebron James is available, don’t think about it twice. He is your guy. If you have second pick, I would go Kevin Durant.

But back to reality, you want to go after someone who blocks or gets a lot of assists. Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo will most likely be the top two point guards available and either is a great pick. They both are top 5 in assists and steals. Steals are also hard to come by.

When it comes to blocks, some of the better options out there include Dwight Howard, Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby. While Camby doesn’t score much, he does everything else well and there’s a reason he’s been a top 15 fantasy player for the past 5 years.

Another important stat to look out for is steals. Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul are great because in addition to their high assist numbers they are both top 5 in the league in steals (when healthy). Manu Ginobili is another great option who does a little bit of everything, including steals.

Finally, turnovers are a sneaky stat that can easily add up. Be wary of drafting someone like Steven Jackson or Brandon Jennings who score a lot, but give the ball up a ton.

When searching for the best vertical program, it can be extremely frustrating because every one of them claims to be the best.

Examine the websites of The Vertical Bible, The Jump Manual, Vertical Mastery and The Vertical Project and they will claim to be the best vertical program.

If you are ready to buy one of these programs, how do you choose? Our research has shown that there are typically 3 scams to watch out for:

1. Monthly coaching – does the program have monthly coaching? Most of best vertical programs do have monthly coaching, and some of them are legitimate. But the legitimate ones should only be $10-$20 per month. However, be aware of the ones that 1) are expensive (there are some that are over $150 per month) and 2) are not upfront about their monthly fees.

It’s disgusting, but the fact is that some of the not so best vertical programs charge a monthly fee for coaching and only tell you this in very small print when you buy their product.

2. One size fits all – while not necessarily a scam, you have to really be careful with the one size fits all approach to vertical jumping. If you think about it, does it really make sense that the best vertical program would be the same for somebody who is 5′5″ tall vs. someone who is 6′6″ tall?

Because these jumping programs are designed for mass distribution, its only logical that they would take a one size fits all approach. This is great for the makers of the product, but not the best solution for you.

There are some vertical programs that are software based that design jumping programs based on your body type, measurements, current jumping ability, etc. And the price of these is the same, if not cheaper than, the one size fits all programs. So, it only makes sense to get one of these custom plans vs. a cookie cutter one.

3. Outlandish claims – the best vertical programs do not make outlandish claims. How do you tell the outlandish claims from the legitimate ones? You can tell if they make claims like:

- get a vertical of 50 inches in a matter of days (this is an exaggeration, but you get the point)

- you won’t have to do squats or other leg building exercises – don’t fall for this. It should be obvious that if you want to learn how to jump higher, then you are going to have to workout your legs.

- Don’t follow good eating habits – I have actually seen this before! The truth is that you have to not only eat the right foods, but also eat the right combination of foods to get a sky-high vertical leap.

A lot of sales pages for these products seduce you into thinking they are the best vertical program. Don’t be fooled by them. There are great choices out there that will give you an amazing vertical leap, you just have to be wary to sort through all the junk and not get sucked into a scam.

Carmello Anthony scored 41 points and the Denver Nuggets used a second half comeback to give the Portland Trailblazers a rare 97-94 loss at their Rose Garden Arena home venue on Thursday night. The Blazers held a 67-62 lead heading into the final quarter but for the second time in as many games had trouble putting their opponent away. Brandon Roy led Portland with 30 points, and Greg Oden was the high rebounder for the home team with 9 boards. Portland is now 1-1 on the young NBA season, while Denver improved to 2-0.

NBA pointspread players who took Denver as +8 road underdogs enjoyed their outright victory and the ensuing payday. The Nuggets have covered the number in both of their victories this season, while Portland evened their ATS mark at 1-1.

After the game, Anthony was happier about the victory than his personal offensive outburst:

“We came out here and stole the win. It wasn’t just an important win. It was a battle.”

Anthony made 7 of 9 shots from the floor and 9 of 10 free throws in the decisive fourth quarter run:

“My shots were going in. I was trying to attack. I got to the rim and the foul line.”

Portland’s Greg Oden was taking the loss hard, as he missed a couple of late game free throws that could have given the Blazers a lead:

“This is a tough one. I definitely stepped up there with confidence thinking I was going to hit both and it didn’t go that way. I put this loss on me. I need to step up and make those.”

Team leader Brandon Roy said that he’d give the Blazers’ big man a pep talk, underscoring the fact that missed shots are just part of the game:

“The biggest thing is to let go. We all miss shots, you’ve got to forget about it.”

Roy also added that the choppy pace of the game with a lot of fouls called benefitted Denver playing in back-to-back games:

“I think it benefited them a bit more coming off a back-to-back. They were tired but anytime you slow the game down that much, it gives them a chance to recover.”

The Blazers will now head to Texas for a rematch against the Houston Rockets. Portland beat the Rockets to open their NBA season. They’ll play at Oklahoma City on Sunday before returning home for a game at The Rose Garden against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday. Denver will head back to ‘The Mile High City’ for a game against Memphis on Sunday before an east coast road trip with stops in Indiana and New Jersey early next week.

Basketball, just like any sport, is important for any child during their development and growth. Basketball can be played by both boys and girls and men and women.

Children can start playing in a league as young as 5 or 6. Playing basketball will help your child work in a group and will improve their fitness.

You can play it in a league or you can also play basketball in a pick up format. Pick up basketball is so easy, all you have to do is turn up at a court and jump into a game with whoever is there at the time.

Another great thing about playing basketball is that it is a really social game and a great way to meet new people, no matter if it’s a league game or pick up at your local court. Usually, people you meet on the sports field will become great friends off, and you may make a life long connection with someone.

These relationships can last many years, which all begin on the basketball court. This is very common for many individuals who have played basketball with each other before.

Although it’s arguably much more enjoyable playing with others, you don’t even need to play with anyone. You can practice shooting, dribbling, and get better at the game by yourself. Then show up your friends or acquaintances.

You could also just play with one other person if you wanted to, and have just as much fun. There are many games out there that you can enjoy for hours on end, like five-three-one or horse. You could also just play a one on one game, maybe two on two if you found some more people, and so on.

Another way of mixing it up is by playing on a half court so you don’t have to run as much. Basketball is one of the most adaptable games so get out there and play.

Vertical training programs are the new hype in the industry of jumping higher. And the question arises that are they trustworthy? Why should someone trust a program that is on the internet? After all the internet is full of geeks and nerds who sit in their moms basement. How can you trust that people are not making this thing up just to take your money?

Most of the Vertical Jump Programs are not trustworthy. It’s very easy for anyone to write a training program. You go through one on the internet and write a new one of your own. You may not even have the basic idea of jumping. So can you now trust any Vertical Jump Program? You need to look for a good program.

How do you do it?

A trustworthy vertical jump program is a one that will have the information about the creator of the program on the front page of website. If it has a photo of the creator, it is even better. Remember, a cartoon character doesn’t count as a photo. People like to put cartoon characters on their website thinking that this will gain other people’s trust. Cute as it may be, it isn’t credible.

Their contact no. and address should also be available, so you can contact them and talk to them in case you have doubts. If they are considerate enough to put their phone no. on the website, then you know that they are trustworthy.

Read the testimonials. But beware, you will find testimonials on all the websites. But not all of them are true. That is why you should see if the website owner has a way to backup the testimonials. Some trustworthy Vertical Jump programs owners go to the extent of hooking you up with the past customers to back up their claims. If someone is ready to go through so much trouble, you know they are not lying.

Good vertical jump programs also provide money back guarantee. So check if they have money back guarantee and if they do, then you know you can’t go wrong.

The reviews of the websites and the products are available on other websites. These remarks are unbiased. Even the ratings about the program and the owner are given which make it easy for you to take a decision.

A good vertical jump program can really make a huge difference in your vertical jumping ability. And if you have the will to work hard, you will see some really huge gains in very little time. But all this will only happen if you choose a good vertical jump program. If you fall for some scam, you won’t see any result. That is why it is a good idea to go for programs with at least 60 days money back guarantee.

There are a lot of Vertical Jump Programs on the internet, but to select the right one, you should learn about them first. At my web site, you can get the best Vertical Jump Program

Weighing under two hundred pounds, at six foot three, steve nash rookie card has become more of a player than in the past. He now has taken a place among other greats, as one of those in the NBA who has made Most Valuable player several times. Only 11 men in the history of the NBA has done this and now he has joined them.

When he first started, everything was a different story for him. Jason Kidd in 1996 was the main star on the team he joined. Only 11 games that he started in, on the first two seasons that he played. This was when he first arrived on the Phoenix Suns from Santa Clara. At this time he was only averaging about 10 points a game and three assists.

Dallas picked him up in 1998 and it is there that he went to all-star status. He returned to the Suns in 2004 when he went to free agent statue. Now the Suns would not want to think of what it would be like to not have him.

Mike D’Antoni’s way of coaching provided the helping hand needed by Steve Nash rookie. He became one of the greats when it comes to shooting from beyond and getting himself up to the rip for layups. Shooting now at the average of 19 points and 11 assists a game; it was good for getting him MVP for 2004-05 and 2005-06.

His game was now averaging 11 assists and 19 points, which helped to earn his team recognition as one of the top NBA teams. For some reason his steve nash rookie card remains undervalued. The question remains as to whether this has become overlooked or just has been some bad judgment call.

It remains a mystery of why his card continues to have a value so low. For now however, you can get a great deal on his card and will continue to be able to until they realize all of the great work that he has done.
